Collared-Dove (Streptopelia decaocto) Science Article 2
abstract
Invasion models have been developed and applied for a long time. As presently existing models have serious drawbacks, another, more general mathematical model of range expansion has been developed. Using information on reproduction, survival, and dispersal at the level of the individual, this model allows the calculation of the radial velocity of population expansion. Here we discuss the example of the Collared Dove Streptopelia decaocto.
