American Wigeon (Anas americana) Science Article 2
abstract
Characterized by a haunting whistle and contrasting plumage, the American wigeon (Anas Americana) is one of North America’s most distinguishable ducks. Its wariness, whistle, coloration and low abundance relative to other ducks (e.g. mallards, gadwall, blue-winged teal, pintails) makes wigeon a welcomed addition in hunters’ bags.
