Physical charateristics
The male is blue-black with a yellow crown stripe. Rump yellow with upper and underwing coverts white. Shows a white shoulder patch and flanks rufous. The female has sides of head grey with a yellow eyering showing like glasses. Upperparts green, throat buffy white and underparts yellowish.

Habitat
Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests. Prefers humid terra firme forest, sandy forest and woodland. Often near the edges of outcrops.

Often seen in mixed-species flocks while foraging for insects by gleaning and sallying. Will also eat fruit.Motly found at midlevel strata.
