Thirty percent of birds that live on land are highly likely to be extinct by the end of this century due to global warming and the destruction of their habitat, according to a recent study by a research team from Stanford University and Duke University.
The study is the first detailed computerized simulation over how global warming may be affecting the habitat of avian species. The research also showed more species will face the risk of extinction in higher temperature areas than lower temperature areas if a rise of 1 C is observed in both areas.
